From the opening tip, USD controlled every aspect of the game, jumping to a 19–1 lead after the first quarter and extending the margin to 41–9 by halftime. The Toreros continued their relentless pace, outscoring Bethesda 29–3 in the third quarter and closing the night with a 22–11 run in the final frame. Jayden Rhodes led the charge with 22 points on 9-for-13 shooting and added eight rebounds, while her sister Hallie Rhodes contributed 11 points and five assists. Freshman Ysabella Von Seipler impressed off the bench with 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists in 20 minutes of play. San Diego dominated the paint with 52 points compared to just two from Bethesda, and tallied 34 fast-break points while holding the Flames scoreless in transition. The Toreros shot an efficient 50.7 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from beyond the arc, while limiting Bethesda to 17.1 percent overall. The emphatic win gave the Toreros a strong start to the season and set a confident tone heading into their upcoming nonconference matchups before West Coast Conference play begins.
