From the very start, USD controlled the tempo on both ends of the floor, building an early double-digit lead and maintaining it throughout the game. The Toreros’ ball movement and defensive pressure set the tone, creating turnovers and turning them into fast-break opportunities. Guard Toneari Lane led the offense with 15 points, all coming in the first half and all from beyond the arc, going 5-for-7 from three-point range. Forward Tim Moore Jr. added 13 points and several key rebounds, while the USD bench contributed an impressive 57 points. The team tallied 22 assists and 11 steals, highlighting an unselfish and energetic performance. San Diego shot over 60 percent from three-point range in the opening half and finished the game with a balanced attack inside and out. Defensively, the Toreros limited Occidental’s perimeter attempts and held them to minimal transition success.
