The Rebels took the lead in the 77th minute off a corner kick, breaking the deadlock late in the match. Just four minutes later, the Aztecs responded when Terence Okoeguale converted a penalty to bring things level at 1–1. SDSU pushed hard in the second half, outshooting UNLV 12 to 6, but couldn’t find a winner despite creating several chances. The Rebels’ goalkeeper came up big with multiple key saves to preserve the draw. It was a physical contest that featured nine yellow cards, and the Aztecs maintained control for most of the game but had to settle for their third straight conference draw.
